OUR STORY


Where We Came From

The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International is a federation of 93 BOMA U.S. associations, BOMA Canada and its 11 regional associations and 13 BOMA international affiliates. Founded in 1907, BOMA represents the owners and managers of all commercial property types including nearly 10 billion square feet of U.S. office space that supports 3.7 million jobs and contributes $205 billion to the U.S. GDP. Its mission is to advance the interests of the entire commercial real estate industry through advocacy, education, research, standards and information. Local Roots

Our Association was established in 1936. BOMA's primary purposes are: (i) to provide a united body representing the commercial real estate community in related issues; (ii) to maintain and increase the level of professionalism in the real estate industry; and (iii) to keep its membership in tune with current issues concerning the real estate market; regulatory and legislative affairs, trends in marketing or specific building maintenance needs.

BOMA Greater Phoenix is governed by established bylaws. The association is led by the Board of Governors and actively managed by an Executive Director, under the direction of the association President.

What We Do

As the leading organization for the commercial real estate profession, BOMA Greater Phoenix plays an important role as a leader and public advocate for the industry. Our activities are as diverse as the constituency we serve.

  • We conduct regular education programs to enrich our members’ expertise in property management.
  • We communicate regularly with our members regarding matters important to the industry.
  • We send representatives to our national meetings.
  • We engage in governmental legislative lobbying as appropriate.
  • We support professional designation in property management.
  • We provide opportunities for members to build networks and relationships that add to the strength of the industry and association.

We are federated with BOMA International, a dynamic network of 90 BOMA U.S. associations and 18 international affiliates. BOMA International is a primary source of information on building management and operations, development, leasing, building operating costs, energy consumption patterns, local and national building codes, legislation, occupancy statistics, technological developments and other industry trends.
