This interactive, online class will show you how to start the benchmarking process for your buildings by actually using the online benchmarking program. You will leave the class with a rating on at least one of your buildings and tips about how to achieve ENERGY STAR building certification.

Overview

Property managers, facility managers, maintenance staff and building engineers are invited to a halfday
seminar about the use of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) benchmarking
with ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager. This interactive, online class will show you how to
start the benchmarking process for your buildings by actually using the online benchmarking
program. You will leave the class with a rating on at least one of your buildings and tips
about how to achieve ENERGY STAR building certification.

  • Learn how to use the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
  • Enter your own data into the system.
  • Receive a rating on your sample building.
  • Learn the next steps to improve your score.
  • Find out how to receive ENERGY STAR certification.

Instructor Dave Munn, a Principal and Chief Technical Officer at Chelsea Group Ltd., has more than 30 years of engineering background and extensive field experience in HVAC, energy conservation and building sustainability. He received the 2009 Region V Energy Engineer of the Year award from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Munn is registered as a professional engineer in Arizona and Hawaii, and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is co-chair of the Green Buildings Committee for the Phoenix chapter of BOMA, chairman of the board for the Arizona chapter of AEE and on the technical committee for the Central Arizona chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
