The Young Professionals Group (YPG) of BOMA Greater Phoenix is pleased to announce the return of our Reverse Trade Show at The Renaissance Phoenid Downtown-Thursday, May 3, 2012.

Participating Regular Members will staff their booths with two to four decision makers at a time.Associate teams will rotate around to chat with their companies of choice. YPG will assign 2-pre-determined 10-minute interview sessions for each participating team.In addition to the assigned interviews, there will be numerous 10-minute open interview sessions. An orientation will take place for Associate Members to go over the RULES OF ENGAGEMENT @ 2PM.

Benchmarking Buildings with ENERGY STAR - APS

BOMA Phoenix has launched the Kilowatt Krackdown Program to help our members achieve the BOMA 7-Point Challenge. Property managers, facility managers, maintenance staff and building engineers are invited to a half day seminar on the use of the EPA's Benchmarking with ENERGY STAR. This interactive class will show you how to start the benchmarking process for your buildings, actually using the online program. You will leave the class with a rating on at least one of your buildings, and tips on how to achieve ENERGY STAR building certification. Download a class flyer here.

The seminar instructor, Dave Munn, is a principal and Chief Technical Officer at Chelsea Group Ltd. He has over 30 years of engineering background and extensive field experience in HVAC, energy conservation, and building sustainability. He has received the 2009 Region V Energy Engineer of the Year Award from the Association of Energy Engineers. Mr. Munn is a registered professional engineer (PE) in the states of Arizona and Hawaii, and is a LEED-accredited professional.

He is currently co-chair of the BOMA Greater Phoenix Green Buildings Committee.

Cancelled - Real Estate Investment & Finance (RPA & FMA)

This course is a requirement for both the RPA and FMA designations. Please see detailed class information from BOMI at this link: Real Estate Investment & Finance . ACE credit recommendation: 3 semester hours, upper division baccalaureate in Real Estate, Property Management, Finance, or Business Administration. Credit has been approved by the Arizona Department of Real Estate, for 24 total hours, 1 in Contract Law, 3 in Real Estate Legal Issues and 20 in General Real Estate.

This class will begin on Wednesday, May 9th, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and continue through Thursday and Friday on the same schedule. The class will finish up Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00p.m. The test will not be at the end of the class period on Saturday as it has in the past. All testing for BOMI classes is now computer based, and you have 6 months from the first day of class (June 6th through December 6th, 2011) to complete your test. Your test fee is included in the class registration fee.

The instructor is Shelly Cramer.

BOMI International's Real Estate Investment and Finance course requires a financial calculator. The course textbook is written for the following calculators: HP 10b, HP 10bII, HP12C, and HP 19BII.

The HP 10b calculator is no longer being produced. Although you cannot purchase HP 10b calculators from Hewlett-Packard, you can still find them in office supply stores and at www.yahoo.shopping.com (search for “HP 10b business calculator”). The HP 10b retails for approximately $35.00.

The HP 10bII calculator,which retails for $29.95, can be purchased online at http://www.hp.com or by calling 888-999-4747. It is currently available in some office supply stores in New York and Chicago, but is making its way across the country. Distribution will increase with time.

The HP 12C calculator, which retails for $69.00, can be purchased at http://www.hp.com , by calling 888-999-4747 and in office supply stores.

The HP 19BII, which retails for $129.00, can be purchased at www.hp.com, by calling 888-999-4747 and in office supply stores.
